Yoga Exercise Is Great For
Beginners
Yoga is a
great exercise program for beginners. It is the perfect low
impact exercise for people who have sports injuries, work injuries and
for pregnant women. It allows the body to stretch without hard
impact on your joints.
As with any exercise program, you should start out slow. Think
the tortoise, not the hare. It does no good to start a new
exercise program and quit because you strained yourself on the first
day and can’t move afterwards. The old saying at the gym, “no
pain, no gain” is not true with yoga.
It is great if you have the time and money to go to a gym and get
professional instruction, but it is not completely necessary. You
can get good instruction from a video or even from a book that will
teach the basic poses. These are good aids even if you do go to a
gym, because it will help reinforce what you learned there.
Remember, your instructor has been practicing yoga for years and the
things they can do with ease are impossible for you to accomplish when
you first start. So don’t worry, just relax and go with the
flow. Remember, yoga is supposed to help you relax, so do the
best you can, and strive for perfection as you go. Some people
are able to pick up the exercises very quickly, and others take a lot
longer. It doesn’t matter, the important thing is to develop the
proper attitude, which is that you can do it and it will help you.
Yoga is low impact, you don’t run ten miles on concrete pavement, so
your knees don’t take the terrible pounding. It increases your
flexibility, which is great for people who have injuries or that are
recovering from surgery. Remember, take it easy and don’t strain
your injury, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can rehab a sports
injury with yoga stretching exercises.
Yoga is great for stress. It is hard to think of the problems of
the day when you are concentrating on maintaining the perfect
pose. As a result, the stress leaves your body and you can relax
and enjoy your life. And the pressures and stresses the next day
don’t seem so bad because you got rid of yesterday’s problems with
yoga.
Yes, yoga is the perfect exercise for beginners. Just remember to
take it slow and steady and you will enjoy yoga for a long time.
